(ARAI) African Refugees Alliance Initiative began in 2019 as African Initiatives for Change (AIC) — a grassroots effort started inside the refugee community to respond to urgent educational and social challenges facing orphaned and vulnerable children.
What began as a small community initiative grew into a movement driven by young refugee leaders determined to create lasting change. Through collective effort, local partnerships, and community trust, AIC established impactful programs including the founding of Hope of the Nation Primary and Nursery School, providing access to education for children who would otherwise remain excluded.
As our impact expanded beyond education into climate action, youth empowerment, and community development, the organization evolved into African Refugees Alliance Initiative — a name reflecting a broader vision of unity, partnership, and global collaboration in advancing refugee leadership and sustainable development.
Today, the organization continues to grow as a platform where refugees are not only beneficiaries, but leaders, innovators, and changemakers shaping their own future.
